Twitter has released a new toolkit Bootstrap, a front-end toolkit for rapidly developing web applications.


Mark Otto posted on Twitter Developers Blog "We are happy to announce Bootstrap, a front-end toolkit for rapidly developing web applications. It is a collection of CSS and HTML conventions. It uses some of the latest browser techniques to provide you with stylish typography, forms, buttons, tables, grids, navigation and everything else you need in a super tiny (only 6k with gzip) resource."

The Experts says Bootstrap should be easy for any web designer or developer to implement. The Twitter development team also pointed out two important benefits.

They say Bootstrap is just CSS, but it's built with Less, a flexible pre-processor that offers much more power and flexibility than regular CSS. With Less, we gain a range of features like nested declarations, variables, mixins, operations, and color functions. Additionally, since Bootstrap is purely CSS when compiled via Less, we gain two important benefits:

First, Bootstrap remains very easy to implement; just drop it in your code and go. Compiling Less can be accomplished via Javascript, an unofficial Mac application, or via Node.js.

Second, once complied, Bootstrap contains nothing but CSS, meaning there are no superfluous images, Flash, or Javascript. All that remains is simple and powerful CSS for your web development needs.

These all are the benefits of using Bootstrap. Bootstrap is tested and supported in modern browsers like Chrome, Safari, and Firefox. Full support for some versions of Internet Explorer is in the works.

Bootstrap comes complete with compiled CSS, uncompiled, and example templates.

Microsoft Unleashes a new Bing app named “We’re In for Windows Phone“ which which helps users organize get-togethers.


The Bing Team on the blog revealed details about the app.

App is simple to use, you can use your phone number to sign up. After singing in you can invite your friends from your contact list to share your location with each other providing restriction for why and how much time.

After sharing info your friends receive a text message with details and then they can join in via the invite.

There after there are many things you can do with the app:

LinkedIn is rolling out new and improved iPhone, Android and HTML5 mobile apps. In addition to mobile apps, LinkedIn has recently revamped its Groups product and added LinkedIn Today, a social news service for professionals to keep track of business-related topics.


These are all designed to make LinkedIn more of an everyday service for professionals.
LinkedIn on blog says "the new apps are faster, simpler and better" and claims speed improvements from 2 to 10 percent, depending on the feature you are using.

LinkedIn’s CEO Jeff Weiner recently said "Mobile is already an area of strng growth for LinkedIn. Mobile page views were up 400% year over year, now LinkedIn wants to push that usage further."

The HTML5-optimized version, along with updated iPhone and Android apps, are getting entirely new user experiences that are touted to be faster, simpler, and better overall than previous versions.


Some features include:

1. Mobile apps will be much more faster across all features

2. Four sections are embedded for users: Inbox, Updates, Groups & More and your profile, connections, etc.

3. To stay up-to-date with connections the Updates news stream is at the front of the app.


In addition to this update LinkedIn says that the company will be adding additional features to its mobile apps over the coming months.

With this update major question rise that:
Whether it can get enough users to keep coming back every day to use LinkedIn. That is, whether the business social networking company can get people to use the service beyond job hunting or job recruiting.

If this apps gets user to do so then it will definitely increase the LinkedIn value.

Facebook released a brand new (separate) app, called Facebook Messenger for the iPhone and Android devices. It combines all of your messages into a single app and can be used to text your Facebook buddies via your profile or text message, via your carrier.


The app works on iOS 4.0 or higher versions on iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. On Android, the Messenger works on Android 2.2 Froyo or higher.

Because Facebook Messenger is a stand-alone application, the user will have to log into it separately. This app also provides integration with the Address Book on the device and thus lets the user chat on Facebook. In a way, Facebook Messenger app being cross-platform from day one is going to give competition to BlackBerry Messenger app iMessage on iOS devices, and several WhatsApp-like messengers.

Facebook Messenger aims to give you a better way of reaching your friends and contacts by unifying your entire correspondence with everyone (social network friends, email and phone contacts) into one single app. The Facebook Messenger is an extension of the Facebook messages service and you can send messages to your online friends, but you can also send texts to your acquaintances the regular SMS way.

Starting up the app brings you to a list, consisting of all your Facebook messages. To write a message to someone you just tap the compose icon in the top right corner and start typing the person’s name. If a person has more than one number to his/hers contact details the app prompts you to select which number to use. You can, naturally, just select Facebook messages and send an online message.


Besides chat, the hidden code in the app reveals that Facebook Messenger is capable of video chat as well. Now, that would really make the best of devices that have front facing cameras.

At this moment, Facebook Messenger is not available worldwide, but it is expected to be available globally in sometime.
